We have five runners in the Grande Course de Haies Grade 1 Hurdle over 3m 1f. Melon (Robbie Power) was disappointing at Punchestown but has been in good form at home since. These bigger French style hurdles will suit him as he has enjoyed schooling over them at home. Hopefully, he will get a good share of the prize money on offer here. Yorkhill (Danny) will come on from his run at Clonmel last time and will handle the ground, track and trip. He hasn’t shown anything like his best form recently so we are running here more in hope than confidence. Bapaume was second in this race last year and is a stronger horse this time round. We are hoping he will at least be placed again. Mr Adjudicator (James Reveley) won a 2m 4f handicap under top weight at Punchestown and we think this longer trip will suit him. This is a big step up in class but he schools well over French hurdles and we think it is worth giving him a chance at this level. Benie Des Dieux (Paul) is arguably our best chance. She has never run over this trip but we don’t think that will be a problem and we are hoping for the best.
